Junior Programs

Competitive

Our Competitive Programs are designed to develop respectful, responsible, focused, hard-working, and resilient athletes who love to compete and can perform competently.

Group Tennis Training

Group Tennis Training offers a high volume of quality repetition, deliberate instructions and individualized feedback, all in an environment that makes learning meaningful and enjoyable. Every practice activity is designed to improve player performance and play by developing their tactical, technical, physical and psychological skills, while building their character and confidence, as well as a solid foundation for future growth and success.

Athletic Development Training

Athletic Development Training not only targets tennis-specific Coordination skills, including balance, orientation, reaction, rhythm, dissociation, differentiation, and dexterity, but it also improves a child’s overall physical literacy and Fundamental Movement skills, such as running, jumping, throwing, catching, striking, and sliding. Children with a higher level of coordination and athleticism learn and retain new information and skills 10X faster, which sets them up for success in sports, school and life alike.

Match Play Training

The Match-Play Training offers high-volume quality repetition of coach-supervised match-play. This is an essential training component for any competitive player in order to apply and evaluate the skills learnt in practice and to further improve their performance. These sessions specifically dial in on advancing player understanding and implementation of tactical and mental skills, as well as the rules of the game and proper etiquette.

Progress Reports

Progress Reports will evaluate your child in their respective age group according to their Tactical-Technical Competencies. Your child’s improvement and competency will be trained and assessed based on the respective parameters and outcomes set for every age group.

Parent-Coach Meetings

The Parent-Coach Meetings will provide a consistent opportunity to develop the Parent-Coach Relationship and ensure that parents are always up-to-date on their child’s performance in their training.

Parent Workshop Series

The Parent Workshops Series is part of our Sports Parent Training. It provides you the opportunity to learn the nuances of Sports Parenting and how to best support your athlete as they grow throughout their journey at all ages and stages of development.

Player Materials

The Player Materials will enhance a player’s tennis knowledge and ensure increased retention of learned on-court content.

10-Month School Year Program Commitment

Participation in the Tennis For Life Competitive Program is by invitation and requires a 10-Month School Year Commitment from September to June, as it is vital to ensure the continuity of your child’s growth and learning throughout the year. Regardless of when your child is accepted into the Competitive Program – whether at the start or during the School Year – you are required to commit until the end of the School Year in June.

We follow Tennis Canada’s Whole Player Development Pathway and train players to develop the character and confidence, as well as the tactical, technical, physical, and psychological skills, required to compete successfully in tournaments at a provincial level and to, ultimately, make a transition towards High-Performance tennis.
